The theme for this year was “Vocation: A Gift to Understand, Nourish and Celebrate. The day began with the Holy Mass with the Provincial of Bangalore – Fr. Arulanandam C.Ss.R. as the main celebrant. His inspiring homily set the tone for the day. Refreshments followed after the mass, after which there was an interesting ice-breaker entitled “famous couples” – featuring famous Biblical personalities and stars from the secular world. Immediately following was an inspiring talk, based on the theme by Fr. Ivel Mendanha C.Ss.R. It did help the participants of the formees’ gathering to understand how precious their vocation is and the importance of nourishing it as well as celebrating it. Then a panel discussion was moderated by Fr. Charles Vijay C.Ss.R, where the panel members – Sr. Myrna (MPS), Fr. Cruice Sanjivi C.Ss.R., Fr. M.S. Antony C.Ss.R., Fr. Xavier Sanjivi C.Ss.R. shared their vocation stories. Questions were put to the panel members and the answers from them brought clarification and enrichment regarding living out one’s Redemptorist vocation. Then the formees broke for a delicious lunch.
After the lunch, there was a lively game conducted by the MPS sisters. Then moved on to a pulsating quiz competition which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the participants for the interesting way it was conducted. The final event of the day was the enactment of some skits regarding the theme of the day done by the participants divided into six teams. The creativity from each of the teams made it a most enjoyable event. Overall it was a day well-spent, leaving the formees all wanting more. And the next formees’ gathering is eagerly awaited.
