WATER-BORDER SAFETY OF FISHER PEOPLE
All over the World Fisher people are facing grave problems due to alleged violations of Water Borders between countries. It is very common in Europe, the Gulf Countries, African & South American Countries. Nowhere in the world are borders clearly earmarked. While there are legal EEZ’s (Exclusive Economic Zones) of 200 nautical miles; there are several countries that do not possess a distance of 400 NM between them. E.G. between India and Sri Lanka.

The first day of the month of August is a very joyful day for the Redemptorists all over the world, because it marks the feast of St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, the Zealous Doctor of the Church, the Patron Saint of Confessors and Moral theologians, a Bishop and above all the Founder of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. It may seem impossible for a man to achieve all these titles in one lifetime but St. Alphonsus made it possible.
Fr.Kenneth Britto (1933-2013), a Redemptorist Priest, was born in Madras (called ‘Chennai’ today) and completed his college studies in Loyola College, Chennai. He joined the Redemptorists, when Fr. Matthew Hickey, an Irish Redemptorist, was the Vice-Provincial in Bangalore. Later he finished his doctorate in ascetical theology and was a professor of Spiritual theology at Mt. St. Alphonsus in Bangalore. He preached many missions in English and Tamil both in India and elsewhere, being a zealous Redemptorist missionary. As a channel of God’s unconditional love, he was a confessor and a spiritual director to many who were either lay or religious.
On the 8th of June 2013, three Redemptorist Students, Bro. J. Gerald Anand, C.Ss.R., Bro. R. Louis Raj, C.Ss.R., Bro. S.
