Redemptorists, as popularly known, are a group of religious priests and brothers belonging to the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer founded by St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori in the year 1732. We are around 5300 members across the world in 78 countries.

The Province of Bangalore is part of the newly formed Asia-Oceania Conference, which comprises of 15 units with around 1053 confreres in 2010. We are around 160 Finally Professed Redemptorists in the Province of Bangalore, which includes the Vice Province of Majella (Mumbai), serving across India and Kenya (Africa).

The Redemptorists Constitutions, No.20 clearly states who we are - “Strong in faith, rejoicing in hope, burning with charity, on fire with zeal, in humility of heart and persevering in prayer, Redemptorists as apostolic men and genuine disciples of Saint Alphonsus follow Christ the Redeemer with hearts full of joy; denying themselves and always ready to undertake what is demanding, they share in the mystery of Christ and proclaim it in Gospel simplicity of life and language, that they may bring to people plentiful redemption”
