The Redemptorists faithful to their Constitutions (no. 5) show preference for situations where there is pastoral need. Besides, their mandate "to evangelize the poor is directed to the liberation and salvation of the whole human person." They have "the duty of preaching the Gospel explicitly and of showing solidarity with the poor by promoting their fundamental rights to justice and freedom.” Those for whom the Redemptorists work are Domestic workers, Dalits, Fish workers, Weavers, Migrants etc. Issues of Justice and Peace also form significant part of their preaching ministry.
Strong in faith, rejoicing in hope, burning with charity, on fire with zeal, in humility of heart and persevering in prayer, Redemptorists as apostolic men and genuine disciples of Saint Alphonsus follow Christ the Redeemer with hearts full of joy
